ARLINGTON — Detectives in Arlington are working to close the case of a strange robbery at Denny’s restaurant last month.

A series of events occurred Feb. 5 in the parking lot of the Denny’s at I-5 and Highway 530, court

records show.

A woman had a gun stuck in her back and $1,400 stolen from her pocket. She then was dragged by her own car as it was being stolen.

The car was wrecked in the process. Eight people were later arrested for having various roles in the crimes.

Parts of the case have been forwarded to Snohomish County prosecutors, and detectives expect to wrap up soon, Arlington spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.

Arlington investigators are working with Snohomish and Skagit sheriff’s offices, as well as police in Burlington and Everett.
