Germany’s Lufthansa will order five Boeing 777 and 30 Airbus A320 aircraft, the carrier said Wednesday.
Lufthansa’s board has approved the purchase of five 777 freighters, which Boeing is slated to deliver in 2013.
Lufthansa also is ordering a total of 30 A320 new engine option aircraf
t. Twenty-five aircraft will be A320neos and five will be A321neos. Delivery of those Airbus jets will begin in 2016.
The total order is worth about $4 billion at list prices, though airlines rarely pay full price.
