‘Mr. Speaker …’
President Barack Obama will emphasize jobs, the economy and the deficit when he gives the annual State of the Union address at 6 tonight.
As always, the speech will be prolonged by frequent interruptions for applause, especially when lawmakers applaud thems
elves for their bipartisan seating arrangement.
Afterward, rising GOP star Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin will give the Republican response to a TV audience of folks who couldn’t switch the channel to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” because they fell asleep during Obama’s speech.
Play well: A 24-year-old Texas man has landed his dream job: master model builder at a Legoland Discovery Center.
He’ll be paid $37,500 a year to start, but he has to pick up and put away all those Legos on the living room floor before the TV comes on.
Munchies: A California man plans to market a line of soft drinks that contain THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.
If the product catches on, expect a big bump in sales of Nacho Cheese Doritos and 16-inch pizzas with extra layers of cheese.
