Snohomish woman seriously injured in car-motorcycle accident

MARYSVILLE — A 42-year-old woman suffered potentially life-threatening injuries when the motorcycle she was riding was hit by a car Thursday night, Marysville police said.

The woman, who is from Snohomish, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.

The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on 27th Avenue NE at 171st Place NE.

The motorcyclist was heading north on 27th when a pizza-delivery driver made a left-hand turn in front of her, Lamoureux said. A Marysville police officer was behind the turning vehicle at the time of the crash.

The 22-year-old pizza-delivery driver was uninjured, police said. Following standard procedure, he was taken to a local hospital to test his blood for alcohol or drugs.
