MILL CREEK — Hot shooting from the outside and solid team defense helped propel Marysville-Pilchuck to a big Wesco 4A girls basketball win over Jackson on Friday night.
Marysville-Pilchuck hit eight 3-point goals in the contest, including three in the fourth quarter as Jackson tried to c
limb back in the game.
“We were down seven at half, got it to within one point at 38-37, and they went on a run,” Jackson head coach Jeannie Boyer said. “They hit big shots at big times.”
The Tomahawks outscored the Timberwolves 17-4 in the decisive fourth quarter behind solid defense and two 3’s from Andrea Adams and one from Morgan Martinis, who led Marysville-Pilchuck with 14 points.
“They really played solid team defense and as a team forced us to play out of sync,” Boyer added. “As an offensive unit we weren’t very cohesive.”
Freshman Kelli Kingma led Jackson with 11 points while Sierra Anderson and Kristin Stoffel each added 10.
