Prep boys basketball: Edmonds-Woodway 59, Monroe 54

EDMONDS — Three players scored more than 10 points and Edmonds-Woodway denied a Monroe comeback attempt with strong free-throw shooting down the stretch for a Wesco 4A win. Monroe, down 12 points, rallied to within three points with a few minutes remaining in the game but the Warriors made eight of10 free throws in the fourth quarter. The loss was Monroe’s first in league play.
