EVERETT — A police pursuit that started in Everett ended with two people injured in a crash Friday morning on a road that runs below the U.S. 2 trestle, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Around 7:30 a.m. a motorcycle trooper clocked a red car going 13 mph over the limit north on I-5 in Everett, trooper Heather Axtman said. The driver would not pull over, she said. Instead, he exited toward Lake Stevens, then got off the trestle at the exit to Homeacres Road.

The car continued alongside the trestle on 20th Street SE until it hit a jersey barrier at a sharp left turn. The car rolled onto its roof.

The driver, 26, and another man, 23, suffered injuries that required treatment at a hospital. Both were conscious at the scene, Axtman said. The driver was expected to be booked into jail for investigation of attempting to elude police, according to the State Patrol.
