The Central Washington University women’s basketball team is a Snohomish County reunion. The Wildcats open their season this week with two games, including a game at Seattle University on Saturday, and the team’s top three returning scorers — senior forward Taylor Baird (Glacier Peak), senior guard Jasmin Edwards (Lynnwood) and junior guard Sadie Mensing (Glacier Peak) — as well as new head coach Randi Richardson (Arlington) all originally hail from Snohomish County.

How central will Baird, Edwards and Mensing be to this year’s team? Here’s a look at their stats from 2016-17 and how they ranked on the team in each category (stats per game):

Player Points Rebounds Assists Blocks Steals Minutes
Taylor Baird 12.8 (1) 8.4 (1) 1.8 (2) 1.2 (1) 0.9 (3) 28.3 (3)
Jasmin Edwards 10.5 (2) 3.2 (5) 5.4 (1) 0.1 (t-10) 1.4 (1) 37.2 (1)
Sadie Mensing 9.3 (3) 3.1 (t-6) 1.8 (3) 0.2 (7) 1.2 (2) 32.8 (2)

Baird and Edwards were unanimous preseason first-team all-GNAC selections.
