Pivec helps lead Oregon St. women to 95-57 rout of UW

SEATTLE — Kat Tudor hit a career-high-tying seven 3-pointers on nine attempts and finished with 23 points and No. 16 Oregon State made a season-high 18 3-pointers in its 95-57 win over Washington in Pac-12 women’s basketball action Sunday.
Lynnwood High School graduate Mikayla Pivec had 15 points five rebounds and seven assists for Oregon State. Pivec was 5-for-6 from the floor, including one 3-point field goal. Taya Corosdale had 13 points, Katie McWilliams 11 and Taylor Kalmer and Aleah Goodman scored 10 apiece. Kalmer also had seven rebounds and six assists — both career highs.
Tudor scored 11 points, including three of OSU’s five 3-pointers, during a 27-3 run that broke a 5-5 tie. UW never threatened the rest of the game.
Washington made just eight field goals in the first half and missed its first five third-quarter shots. The Beavers, meanwhile, made five of their first six.
Back-to-back 3s by Corosdale and Tudor gave the Beavers a 65-26 lead about 3½ minutes into the second half.
The Huskies have lost six in a row and 13 of their past 14.
Amber Melgoza led Washington with 18 points.
