Ana Sulantay, Tori Killinger, Stanwood girls tennis

Sultanay and Killinger rallied from a 6-1 first-set defeat to beat Cascade’s Ainsley Jordan and Maddie Broome at No. 2 doubles to help the Spartans beat the Bruins 4-3 in a non-conference match.

Kate Houghton, Meadowdale softball

Houghton, a junior, struck out 17 Snohomish batters in the Mavericks’ 4-3 win over the Panthers in a Wesco 3A game.

Kaylie Hoskins, Lake Stevens softball

Hoskins struck out 17 Kamiak batters against just two walks in the Vikings’ 11-0 win over the Knights in a six-inning Wesco 4A game.

Ethan Willems, Glacier Peak boys track & field

Willems, a junior, posted the fastest 400-meter time in the state according to www.athletic.net, finishing in 48.99 seconds during the Grizzlies’ Wesco 4A meet with Kamiak.

Julia Parra, Arlington girls track & field

Parra, a junior, threw the shot put 41 feet, 11 inches in a Wesco 3A meet with Marysville Pilchuck and Cedarcrest. It’s the fourth-best mark in the state and the best in 3A, according to www.athletic.net.
