EVENTS

Political play

“Many Maps, One Voice,” a short history of redistricting in Washington state, will be shown in two performances at the Everett PUD building’s auditorium 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Find tickets at brownpapertickets.com, starting at $5 for students.

The one-woman play, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Snohomish County, tells the story of redistricting through the real experiences of legislator Mary Ellen McCaffree.

Maltby gets a new fire station

Fire Station 33 has officially opened shop in Maltby. It promises to bring better response times and accessibility to the Echo Lake and Lost Lake communities. The 11,000-square-foot building features three vehicle bays, offices, training areas and dorms. Crews at Station 74, also in Maltby, were reassigned to the new facility.

A public ribbon cutting and open house will be held on 6 p.m. May 6 at 19424 Fales Road.
