We’ve lost a good legislator — Palumbo — to Amazon

Sad that state Sen. Guy Palumbo gave up the fight (“Guy Palumbo quits state Senate to become lobbyist for Amazon,” The Herald, May 25).

I thought of him as a “white knight” trying to salvage our government from the trumpeting Reds and braying Blues who are so bent on following party line and only when their party made the proposal. Perhaps as we continue to lose our “white knights” then maybe Amazon (and other tech companies) will continue to offer us “bread and circus” (home delivery of our over-consumerism and mouth open gaping at a screen) and the masses will be content.
