ARLINGTON — Joshua Roundy has resigned from the Arlington City Council effective immediately, the city announced Monday.

In his letter to the city, Roundy cited personal reasons for his departure.

“I appreciate Josh’s service to the Arlington community and understand his need to put his family first,” Mayor Barb Tolbert said in a news release. “I wish Josh and his family good health and continued success in their endeavors.”

Roundy was elected to the council in 2017.

The city council will discuss options for filling his seat for the remainder of a four-year term at its Jan. 21 meeting.

Applicants for the position must be registered to vote and must have lived within city limits for at least one year.
