EVERETT — A hit-and-run crash Sunday morning killed a man on Evergreen Way near Madison Street.
A driver in a Chevrolet Tahoe allegedly crashed into the man’s Chevrolet S-10 truck, just before 6:15 a.m., the Everett Police Department said.
The Tahoe’s driver, a 29-year-old man, allegedly ran off until a citizen tip helped officers find him in the 5100 block of Elm Street. He was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide.
The truck’s driver, described as in his mid-50s, died at the scene. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death and identify him.
Alcohol and speed contributed to the crash, according to a news release from Everett Police Department.
Northbound Evergreen Way was closed about four hours during the initial investigation.
