Herald homework: End switch to daylight saving time

Daylight saving time should not be continued because it can cause injuries, chaos and is not effective in its use. Primarily, the source “The Never-Ending Daylight Savings Debate” states, “Studies link the lack of sleep at the start of DST to car accidents, workplace injuries, suicide, and miscarriages.”
Since someone does not have enough sleep it can cause them to not think clearly. Imagine a person, not having enough sleep due to daylight savings, who throws their life away and will always face the consequences for that one moment. The article, “National Geographic: The Case For and Against Daylight Saving” states: “Most African and Asian nations skip daylight saving time while most North American and European nations observe it; half the planet is out of sync with the other.” They may end up causing problems, such as calling in the middle of the night or if someone was in an important meeting.
It does not work effectively; what is the point of continuing it? All it does is cause harm. The opposing side may argue that daylight savings allow businesses to earn more money. “Extra hours of evening daylight spur summer spending,” reports National Geographic. Though, that could have a negative effect.
Since so many people will be going places, it could cause more car accidents. According to “Daylight Saving: The 4 Surprising Health Effects of Falling Back,” car accidents were more common after daylight saving had started. We should end daylight saving to prevent the difficulties it has cost us.
