Graduation parade

Mill Creek is recognizing graduating high school seniors with a parade procession at 10 a.m. on June 13. The parade is limited to 250 seniors from all area high schools. It will begin at Henry M. Jackson High School and end at Mill Creek Boulevard and Bothell Everett Highway , according to a city news release.

Seniors are encouraged to decorate their vehicles for the parade, and homes along the parade route are also encouraged to show support by decorating.

Participants must register online. The city recommends that only those living in the same household ride together due to social distancing requirements.

Affordable housing project funds

Snohomish County is accepting applications for federal and local funds to develop affordable rental housing and shelter projects.

Officials estimate that $1.5 million will be made available under the HOME Investment Partnerships Program in the 2021 program year, according to a county news release. More money will also be available through the local Chemical Dependency & Mental Health Sales Tax program in 2020, although it’s not yet known how much.

Projects must benefit low-income people in the county.

Nonprofit organizations, for-profit developers and government agencies are welcome to apply.

Applications are due to the county Human Services Department by 4 p.m. on July 27.

Anyone interested in applying is encouraged to attend a Zoom workshop from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on June 16.
