Senate should convict Trump for inciting attack on Congress

If you are the at-fault driver in an automobile accident where someone dies, you are still guilty of manslaughter even after you exit the car. In the same vein, Donald Trump incited an insurrectionist mob whose intent was to kill elected officials and overturn a free and fair election.
Five people died as a result of Mr. Trump’s actions and he is still guilty of this crime even though he is no longer president. He should be convicted of inciting an insurrection and face whatever punishment such a crime deserves. He should be prevented from ever holding office again. He should not be allowed to run for federal, state or local offices, (or even your local dog catcher) ever again.
