Pedestrian dies after being struck by train in Marysville

MARYSVILLE — A pedestrian died after being hit by a train Tuesday afternoon, according to a tweet from the Marysville Police Department.

The train struck the pedestrian around 3:30 p.m. in the 14000 block of 136th Street NE in Marysville, near where the tracks pass under I-5.

Police were investigating the death Tuesday and temporarily blocked off 136th Street.

The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
