Prep girls soccer:Edmonds-Woodway 1, Shorewood 0

ARLINGTON — Edmonds-Woodway captured the district championship with a shutout victory over Shorewood in the final round of the District 1 3A girls soccer tournament. Hailey Hull scored the only goal.

“It was a neat opportunity,” said Shorewood head coach Bill Wilkins. “We gave a it a shot (to win the district championship) and it didn’t work out. To hold Edmonds-Woodway to one goal is a pretty good effort, but if you dont score you can’t win.”

Shorewood faces Holy Names Academy and Edmonds-Woodway faces Auburn Mountainview in the first round of the state tournament,
