Prep girls soccer: Squalicum 3, Shorecrest 0

SHORELINE — Squalicum shut out Shorecrest in a District 1 2A girls soccer tournament match Saturday night. The match decided seeding for the state championship tournament.

“Our focus was how we needed to play. It’s about making sure that we execute what we do on the field,” Shorecrest head coach Mindy Dalziel said. “You go all out. We went for the win. In the overall scheme of things you want that district title.” The Scots had to settle for second place in the district.

Dalziel was impressed by Squalicum’s play on the field.

“They’re a good team. I predict that they will go all the way. They’ll make it to the final four.

It’s tough to lose but we have to move on,” Dalziel said. “We’re one of the 16 teams in state and it’s kind of cool.”
