EVERETT — Zack Ostapchuck scored back-to-back goals in the third period to break open a tied game, and the Vancouver Giants held on to beat the Everett Silvertips 6-5 on Saturday night.

Matthew Ng, Ben Hemmerling and Jackson Berezowski all scored in the first period as the Silvertips jumped out to a 3-1 lead.

Berezowski scored again in the second, but the Giants also tallied three goals as the game entered the final period tied 4-4.

Ostapchuck scored at 5:45 and 11:12 in the final frame to give Vancouver a 6-4 lead. Niko Huuhtanen scored a goal at 15:30 to cut the lead to 6-5, but the Silvertips couldn’t find the equalizer.

Koen MacInnes stopped 20 of 26 shots and Braden Holt saved all three attempts he faced in relief for Everett (18-2-1-1).

Jesper Vikman stopped 43 of 48 shots for Vancouver (13-7-1-0).
