Organized deception led to Trump’s defeat

That a patently false narrative can capture the minds of a majority of a nation’s people shouldn’t surprise Americans. For nearly the entirety of the last president’s term, a systematic deception about that president was engineered by the opposition political party, our intelligence services, a compliant and welcoming media, and a large swath of major technology companies.

That this organized deception is only now being slowly revealed some 18 months after its influence helped defeat that former president should give at least as much pause to the American electorate as does a similar story from a well-recognized dictatorship.

That an abrasive and sometimes abusive president may be unpopular with the other party does not justify an all-hands on deck denial of his presidency any more than it would for a president whose unfortunate cognitive decline is on display on a daily basis.
