Limit for firearm magazines won’t stop mass shootings

The banning of high capacity magazines will do nothing to stop crime or killings (“‘A milestone’: Law signed banning sales of large-capacity ammo magazines,” The Herald, March 23). If anybody thinks that passing a law saying “No, you can’t buy, sell or manufacture these magazines.” Is going to stop anybody intent on mass murder and make them say to themselves “Oh! Gov. Inslee said I can’t use these. I better put them away and use 10-round magazines.” then you are absolutely and incurably delusional.
Stop passing laws that are nothing more than feel-good knee-jerk reactions that do nothing to solve the problem. Enforce our existing laws to the fullest extent and stop bargaining cases down to lesser crimes. This problem isn’t going to be stopped overnight. It’s going to take generations, just like it’s taken generations for society to get to this condition.
The solution is to stop raising your children to feel entitled. Stop raising them to feel that every social slight, big and small, must be avenged. Sometimes life is just life and you have to learn to buck it up and live with it. I did. I survived being bullied. I’m a graduate of The School of Hard Knocks. And even though I had access to guns, never once did it cross my mind to kill anybody. Because I was raised that way.
