Cause of climate change is clear and oil companies knew it

\A recent letter to the editor complained about The Herald’s coverage of climate change, claiming that the‘history of weather has its ups and downs. Yes, it does, but the current change has happened in the past two centuries or less; where other climate change has happened over thousands of years. Then there is the occasional asteroid that wipes out everything. While cities, asphalt, concrete do retain heat it is nowhere near what the carbon pollution that is dumped into the environment causes. Can’t blame Gov. Inslee, and where is he going to make money trying to help solve the issue?

You can blame the fossil fuel industry; its scientists have known from at least the mid 1970s that burning fossil fuels would cause climate change. But its greed was more important than life on our planet. Improvement to our infrastructure and a change from burning fossil fuels to renewable energy along with the new jobs it creates is our future. Otherwise, we are in for more gigantic storms, wildfires, drought, which will lead to food insecurities and the wars it will create.

As for the letter writer’s complaints about the lack of hockey scores in the paper. You can use a computer or phone to get all the updated scores.
