Fentanyl article was eye-opening

Thank you for the informative and an eye-opening article on fentanyl (“’Whole new demon,’: Fentanyl deaths sore, and recovery is harder,” The Herald, April 10). Special thanks to Randy and Barry Tharp for their courage in sharing their life’s experiences with drugs, as an ex-dealer (Randy) and user.

I have a better understanding of the drug fentanyl and how it compares with the other street drugs. It explains why we have this epidemic and how our elected officials need to be educated and open up more resources!

I’m praying for the Tharp family to heal.
