Edmonds-Woodway 5, Shorewood 0

EDMONDS — Jacob Gabler pitched a three-hit shutout and Jens Simonsen hit a three-run triple in the first inning to lift sixth-seeded Edmonds-Woodway past 11th-seeded Shorewood in a loser-out Class 3A District 1 tournament game.

Gabler fanned 13 batters and walked just two. Gibby Marshall-Inman went 2-for-3 with a run scored, Drew Warner was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Grant Oliver reached base twice and scored a run for the Warriors (12-9).

Edmonds-Woodway advances to face third-seeded Stanwood in the tournament quarterfinals 2 p.m. Saturday at Stanwood High School.

Jacob Linberg had a double and Blake Gettman and Evan Hjort each had a hit for the Stormrays, who finished the season 7-14.

Monroe 3, Snohomish 1

MONROE — Seth Baldwin allowed only one run and struck out six in a complete game and eighth-seeded Monroe edged ninth-seeded Snohomish to advance to the quarterfinals of the Class 3A District 1 tournament.

Baldwin gave up just four hits and one walk. Griffin Montana hit a solo home run, Rylan Hampton doubled and had an RBI and Tyler Hogan hit a double for the Bearcats (12-9).

Monroe advances to face top-seeded Lynnwood in the tournament quarterfinals 2 p.m. Saturday at Mountlake Terrace High School.

Gage Keene went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Panthers. Snohomish starter Kale Hammer struck out 10 in a complete game and allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits and three walks.

The Panthers finish the season at 15-7.

Mountlake Terrace 8, Arlington 4

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Adison Mattix struck out 11 in a complete game on the mound and Talan Zenk drove in two runs as 10th-seeded Mountlake Terrace beat seventh-seeded Arlington in a loser-out Class 3A District 1 tournament game.

Mattix allowed four runs, three earned, on eight hits and didn’t walk a batter. Zenk went 1-for-3 with a double and a stolen base and Dominic Kim was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Hawks (10-10).

Mountlake Terrace advances to face second-seeded Oak Harbor in the tournament quarterfinals 2 p.m. Saturday at Squalicum High School.

The Eagles finish the season 12-9.

EVERETT — Yanina Sherwood tossed a no-hitter and struck out 13 batters and Jackson rebounded from its first loss by blanking Mariner in a Wesco 4A matchup.

Simone Williams went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI and Allie Thomsen doubled and scored a run for the Timberwolves (17-1, 5-1 league). Jackson worked nine walks as a team.

Alexis Slater allowed one run in two innings and struck out five for the Marauders (7-10, 0-6).

Wesco 3A/2A

Mountlake Terrace 21, Lynnwood 11 (6 innings)

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Mountlake Terrace scored 15 straight runs to erase a five-run deficit and beat Lynnwood in a Wesco 3A/2A matchup.

Delia Glover went 5-for-6 with a double and three RBI, Cameron Dunn hit two home runs and drove in five runs during a 4-for-4 day at the plate and Kaylee Mitchell went 3-for-5 with three RBI for the Hawks (7-10, 5-8 league).

Kyleigh Smith added a home run and three RBI and went 2-for-5.

Nyree Johnson hit three home runs and had six RBI, Grace DeSota had three hits, including a home run, and three RBI and Malina Holden went 3-for-4 with a sole home run for the Royals (4-13, 3-10).
