Will Nate Nehring’s pro-life policies extend past womb?

I am so glad to hear that Councilmember Nate Nehring is hoping to transform our culture to one that, “respects the dignity of all human life, particularly those who are most vulnerable” (“Roe v. Wade ruling spurs praise and outrage in Snohomish County,” The Herald, June 24). I cannot wait to hear his support for all that goes with such a culture, such as universal pre-k, fully funded K-12 education, paid maternity and paternity leave, universal healthcare, free school lunches, and so much more.
After all, if we are to respect the dignity of human life, protecting the most vulnerable, if we are to be a truly “pro-life” society, surely we must do so even after that life has left the womb? Otherwise, wouldn’t this all just be about forcing women to give birth against their will?
