EVERETT — Dariel Gomez hit a solo home run to tie the game and Marysville Pilchuck High School alum Trent Tingelstad hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Everett AquaSox rallied for a 6-5 win over the Vancouver Canadians on Wednesday afternoon at Funko Field.
After the Canadians took a 5-4 lead on an RBI groundout from MacKenzie Mueller in the top of the eighth inning, Gomez led off the bottom of the inning with a shot to left field to tie the game at 5-5.
Justin Lavey followed with a single and James Parker doubled to put runners on second third. Tingelstad pinch hit for Myles Miller and drove in Lavey with the winning run on a sacrifice fly to center field.
Isaiah Campbell earned his eighth save in eight chances after wiggling out of a jam in the top of the ninth inning.
Vancouver put runners on first and second with a pair of one-out singles, but Campbell got Zach Britton to hit a ground ball to Cole Barr at third base and Barr touched the bag at third and threw to first base for a game-ending 5-3 double play.
Seattle Mariners top prospect Noelvi Marte continued his hot hitting, launching a solo home run in the third inning and finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Gomez went 3-for-4 with two RBI, Andy Thomas went 3-for-3 with a run scored and James Parker went 2-for-4 with two doubles for the AquaSox.
Prelander Berroa started on the mound for Everett (37-39) and allowed four runs on five hits in three innings. Berroa struck out six and walked two.
Addison Barger went 3-for-4 and Damiano Palmegiani, Tyler Keenan and Miguel Hiraldo all had two hits for Vancouver (36-37).
