Why are we bailing Brittney Griner out for her poor choices?

An ex-army brat, I was raised to make responsible choices, and to expect and be responsible for the consequences for making bad choices. Lessons quickly learned.

Not for Brittney Griner though. She’s special. After all, she is a pro basketball player, and played in the Olympics. She has money and fame. After making the selfish decision to bring marijuana into Russia, she was arrested and prosecuted for prison time.

She is now asking her country, our nation, to bail her out of her bad choice. And we are trying, and we will. We just have to add more convicted Russian dangerous prisoners to make the deal. Sacrificing national security for her selfish choice to smoke weed. Aside from her facing no consequences for her behavior, she will end up costing our government and military millions of dollars to safely return her to her life of luxury, wealth and fame.

No lessons learned. No accountably. What about all the recent hype: No one is above the law? Wonder if she intends to somehow repay her debt to this country? Don’t bet on it.
