SNOHOMISH — Highway 9 drivers through Snohomish should plan for delays or detours next week as long as the weather conditions are right.

Crews need to close both directions between Second and 30th streets as they construct a roundabout at the intersection with Avenue D, which is also Bickford Avenue.

The northbound lane will close at 8 p.m. Tuesday through 5 a.m. Monday.

Southbound traffic will be open 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Both directions of the highway will be closed next weekend, from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

A detour for drivers passing through will take them to U.S. 2 around the closure.

Local traffic heading south can use 30th Street to Bickford Avenue, Avenue D and Second Street to reach southbound Highway 9. Northbound local traffic can take Marsh Road to Airport Way, onto Avenue D and Bickford Avenue to 30th Street.
