‘Christian nationalists’ god is politics

Sid Schwab is spot on (“GOP’s ‘candidate quality’ problem goes deeper than candidates,” The Herald, Aug. 26). While Marjorie Taylor Greene laments uninvited death threats and calls it swatting, it all comes down to poor candidate quality, and poor vetting of candidates by the voters. Schwab is right, the GOP and the hidden “ultra right” have abandoned the rule of law. These and their cadres have fomented book burnings, secessionists, insurrectionists, theft of federal documents you the voter own, not the corrupt politicians and former president, and we cry: darn those “Christian nationalists.” Now there is a detestable word use if ever I heard one.

‘Christian’ is misapplied to persons who’s god is the nation or government. Christians elect their representatives, who may or may not be Christian and many are nationalist, and yet, no one from the Christian Liberty Party is in Congress. Religious nationalism is indeed a reality, but for adherents to Christianity, anathema to scripture. Just because some candidate in politics reflects their view from a Christian point of view does not give the world the right to call them Christian nationalists.

“Seek ye first the” Christian Liberty Party and they will show you what Christian nationalism is all about. I agree with Scwhab that nihilism is rampant in politics because politicians today serve themselves, not their voters. Meanwhile, to gain voters, politicians ignore the Hippocratic Oath

And force physicians to abandon their professional standards in favor of being politically correct.

Bravo, politicians; it’s the best you can do?
