Why many Democrats win in Washington state

It’s interesting to me that so many Republican voters in this state can’t understand why Democrats win almost all state wide elections. Men in my family have been union ironworkers since before World War I. I also support the right to own a firearm and protect your home and loved ones.

You can find many Republicans who support gun rights but virtually none that have a kind word for labor unions. The last politician that supported both those things got my vote and even was supported by the ironworker local union. That was Jack Metcalf , the best representative we ever had. Metcalf was a Republican and a good one.

I always vote and I used to split my vote, but the last few elections I voted a straight Democratic ticket. The Republicans today are way too radical and I really believe some of them would take away many rights.
