AquaSox need new stadium, but keep the current prices

I moved to Stanwood from Kirkland in 2004, I had several good reasons, all of which proved out over time.

I also found a side benefit and became an Everett AquaSox fan. I could bring my wife, kids, their kids or a few friends. I’d buy the tickets, food, sodas, beer and peanuts and free parking. In other words, I could play “The Bigshot” for about $125!

The games are fun, the between inning audience participation drew in the kids (and adults) a good time was had by all. But, (there’s always a but) the stadium kind of reminds me of a high school stadium in, oh, I don’t know, maybe Ritzville.

I’m 73 so for me that’s a plus, takes me back a few decades. But I do see the need for a new facility (“Patterson: AquaSox facilties in need of major upgrade,” The Herald, Sept. 30). I spent three years in Toledo, Ohio, recently and they built their AAA club, the Mudhens, a new stadium that won awards for design, No. 11 AAA field in the nation. Yep, we could do with a new stadium, I doubt we’ll see anything like that. I also doubt I’ll see all that fun for a $125 either.
