Locals selected for all-state basketball games

A handful of local products are set to compete in all-state games put on by Washington basketball coaches associations this weekend.
Four area boys were selected to participate in the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Weekend, which takes place Saturday at Curtis High School in University Place.
Jackson senior forward Sylas Williams, who was recently named the county’s boys player of the year by the Snohomish County Basketball Officials Association, was named to the Class 4A team. Shorecrest senior forward Parker Baumann and Arlington senior center David Zachman earned spots on the 3A squad. Mountlake Terrace junior forward Zaveon Jones was named to Team Pepple for the futures game.
The boys all-state games start with a unified game at 10 a.m. and continue with the futures game at 11 a.m., the 1B vs. 2B game at 1 p.m., the 1A vs. 2A game at 3 p.m. and the 3A vs. 4A game at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults (18 and up), $5 for ages 6 to 17 and senior citizens, and free for children 5 and under. The games are being live streamed by team1sports.com.
Four girls were named to the Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association Senior All-State Games, which take place Saturday at King’s High School in Shoreline.
Glacier Peak senior guard Kylani Rookstool earned a spot on the 4A team. Arlington senior guard Jenna Villa, who was recently named the Gatorade Washington State Girls Basketball Player of the Year, Stanwood senior center Vivienne Berrett and Monroe senior guard Adria Lincoln were all selected to the 3A squad.
The girls all-state games start with the 1B vs. 2B game at 2 p.m. and continue with the 1A vs. 2A game at 4 p.m. and the 3A vs. 4A game at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults (18 and over) and $5 for students and senior citizens.
