VANCOUVER, B.C. — The Everett AquaSox didn’t get their first hit until two outs in the sixth inning in an eventual 10-2 loss to the Vancouver Canadians on Friday afternoon at Nat Bailey Stadium.

Vancouver’s Trenton Wallace struck out seven and did not allow a hit over five dominant innings before being pulled after 79 pitches. Abdiel Mendoza came on in relief and got two quick out before Ben Ramirez singled to center to break up the no-hitter.

With the game tied at zero in the bottom of the fifth, the Canadians struck for five runs, capped by a three-run home run from Gabriel Martinez. Vancouver (17-10) added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth on home runs from Alex De Jesus and Michael Turconi to take a commanding 9-0 lead.

Bernie Martinez started on the mound for Everett (14-16) and sailed through four innings before running into trouble in the fifth and sixth. Martinez finished with eight earned runs allowed on eight hits in six innings. Tyler Locklear and Salvatore had the lone runs batted in for the AquaSox.
