In the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness month and this crucial election year, my heartfelt connection with Susanna Johnson, a candidate for Snohomish County Sheriff, has profoundly moved me.

In my 18 years of service to Snohomish County, a recent breast cancer diagnosis revealed a stark contrast in leadership. Despite the rhetoric of wellness initiatives, the current sheriff’s office command remained silent in the face of my struggle. Johnson’s unexpected and compassionate gesture, a handwritten card, exemplifies genuine leadership. In times of adversity, her actions speak louder than mere words or titles, showcasing a commitment to empathy and community well-being.

As we navigate Breast Cancer Awareness month alongside the election, it’s crucial to evaluate candidates beyond promises. Johnson’s demonstrated actions make her a beacon of true leadership.

Endorsing her is a powerful choice for a sheriff who embodies values of integrity, dignity, commitment and pride.This November, my vote is a reflection of this endorsement, urging others to prioritize leaders who embody empathy and action.
