EVERETT — Police arrested a teenager Friday night in connection to the deadly shooting of another 18-year-old on Casino Road.

Police arrested the suspect, 18, for investigation of second-degree murder, according to the Everett Police Department. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail at 11:58 p.m.

At 1:25 p.m. Friday, Everett police responded to reports of a shooting on the 1300 block of Casino Road near Cascade High School, police said.

It was initially reported as a drive-by shooting.

A teenager was stopped in the road with a gunshot wound, according to the department. Firefighters took him to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, where he later died.

The teen was not a student at Cascade and school was not in session at the time police responded, according to police. Everett officers blocked off about a half mile of Casino Road, from 7th Avenue SE to Kossuth Avenue, as they searched for the shooter.

Police said there are no other suspects in the fatal shooting.
