Snohomish Schools, Dist. 4: Sherri Larkin will work with parents

Sherri Larkin is the right choice for Snohomish School District Board member.

Student proficiency scores in English, math and science, continue to decline in the Snohomish School District, despite taxpayer support averaging $16,500 per student. The current Snohomish school board appears to be more focused on promoting social agendas in the classroom, rather than excellent academic outcomes for all students.

Former elementary school teacher Sherri Larkin understands the critical importance of a strong foundation in the core subjects of reading, writing and math. She is also committed to a serious review of all curriculum and teaching techniques, so that every student can succeed. Innovation in the classroom and an excellent curriculum, are several of the many remedies drastically needed to improve our public schools.

Her stance on the importance of partnering with parents is also refreshing, at a time when some school administrators are complicit in putting teachers rather than parents in the driver’s seat of deciding what’s best for kids. In reality, student success is a product of engaged parents, great teachers, and school administrators, all working together. Schools should not be pitting parents against their kids!

The election this Nov. 7 is a choice between rubber-stamping the status quo of low student outcomes and escalating property taxes “buying” poor performance, or a candidate who refuses to accept poor student outcomes, and will prioritize parent partnerships in kid’s education. Please vote for Sherri Larkin.
