Good for PUD’s clean energy, but where’s better service?

Reading Paul Robert’s commentary was a painful exercise, but I made it through (“Eco-Nomics: Snohomish PUD turning a light on climate success,” The Herald, Dec. 9). The article attempts to laud the PUD for the things the utility has done to transition to emission-free energy. The article lists the effort that the PUD is taking to achieve this goal. Unfortunately, the article seems to be more of an advertisement out of the PUD Office of Customer Relations.

The article mentions and praises several things that the PUD has supposedly done and is doing to achieve climate success. It is all positive, yet there are few instances of success stories which have led to better service, not just a different service. Nothing new here.

Some of the efforts of the PUD have been going on for several years (decades?) with little improvement in service or reduction in costs to its customers.

I do applaud the author for lists he highlighted to praise the PUD from an independent source. The PUD could use someone like this person in its Office of Customer Relations.
