STANWOOD — The Snohomish County Conservation and Natural Resources Department will reopen Kayak Point on July 1, almost a year after the park closed for the first phase of construction.

Visitors will have access to Kayak Point’s beach, picnic shelters and new boat launch.

The park’s fishing pier will remain closed during the summer, as contractors continue renovating it.

Snohomish County Parks and Recreation plans to close Kayak Point again Oct. 15 for the second phase of construction at the park.

The second phase of work will have contractors move picnic shelters away from the beach, complete the backshore berm and plant native vegetation along the shoreline.

Visitors can start making reservations for the park’s picnic shelters March 1.
