State needs fairer revenue source to fund schools

I wholeheartedly agree with the letter writer that our schools need better funding. However, no mention of a possible solution was made.

Is placing the burden of funding for schools disproportionally on the property owners the way to go? Small wonder school levies and bonds keep failing if property owners are the only segment of the population singled out for funding schools.

Why is the state not stepping up to the plate to find a more equitable solution?
