EVERETT — An early morning fire injured two people at an Everett apartment complex Monday.

Around 5:40 a.m. Monday, firefighters responded to reports of a fire on the second floor of the D-building at the Crystal Springs Apartments on 702 West Casino Road, an Everett Fire Department press release said. Multiple callers indicated to first responders that a woman was trapped on the second-story deck.

Firefighters arrived as residents were evacuating and located the woman, who had jumped from the deck before they arrived. First responders treated the woman on scene before transporting her to the hospital in stable condition, the release said.

First responders transported an additional individual to the hospital for undisclosed injuries.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in approximately 30 minutes, after it extended into the attic and siding on the west side of the complex, the release said. The fire caused extensive damage to the unit where it originated. The unit below suffered water damage, while the adjacent unit experienced smoke and water damage.

The Everett Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
