Jeep adds Limited model to Wagoneer S electric SUV

The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S Limited midsize luxury SUV is a follow-up to the Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition introduced in 2024. Both vehicles are fully electric and exactly the same size, but there are clear differences between them.
The Launch Edition powertrain generates 600 horsepower and 617 pound-feet of torque; the Limited model’s numbers are 500 hp and 524 lb-ft. For Limited buyers who might feel like second fiddle, there’s an available option package to match the Launch Edition’s power.
2025 Wagoneer S pricing starts at $67,195 for the Limited model and $72,195 for the Launch Edition. These prices include a $1,995 destination charge. The level of standard features for each one varies as expected according to price.
As a forever fan of the Jeep Wrangler and its iconic design, at first sight I did not take too kindly to the Wagoneer S Limited’s appearance. It’s a beautiful SUV, no question. But a Jeep? Nah. A show-offy interloper. And why would anyone using public roads need 500 horsepower, let alone 600?
The Wagoneer S all-electric factor and Limited’s gorgeous interior are redeeming qualities. Design is artistic, upholstery is top-notch better-than-leather synthetic, the driver’s seat is extremely comfortable, and space is generous. There are three screens for a total 45 inches of attractive display. Many upscale tech features are present and accounted for. Ditto for comfort and convenience features.
The 2025 Wagoneer S Limited has an EPA-estimated driving range of 294 miles on a full charge, and an MPGe rating of 100 city, 85 highway, and 93 combined.
Compared to other midsize luxury SUVs, Limited’s ride might seem a little rough, not quite delivering what most people think of as luxurious. But I liked it because it seemed kind of Jeepy.
I’m duty-bound to report an unfortunate episode during the text week. I wanted to check out the frunk, a small storage area under the hood. There’s an electronic release button near the steering wheel, and then the hood can be slowly lifted, manually. Complex instructions are given for closing the hood: Gently lower the hood until it rests on the latch. Place two hands on the center of the hood, 12 inches from the front. Press down firmly until the latch clicks into place.
I did that and it didn’t work, though I tried and tried. The owner’s manual gives dire warnings against slamming the hood. Finally I realized the problem: I wasn’t strong enough to press the center of the hood all the way down. I had to call a neighbor to do it. He saved the day.
I held a grudge against the implications of that unconventional hood design. Some women are stronger than others, of course, but we shouldn’t have to be Nia Jax to close the hood of a car.
