Singapore Airlines has auctioned two tickets for more than $100,000 to ride on the first commercial flight of Airbus’s A380.
The first airline to receive Airbus’s new superjumbo jet, Singapore Airlines put tickets for the flight from Singapore to Sydney up for bid. The one-way tickets began with the price of $380.
Yes, you read that right: one-way tickets.
An Australian businessman forked over $100,380 for the two tickets, according to a MarketWatch report. But he would need to find his own transportation back.
The airline, which is using the auction to raise money for charity, is taking bids for the return flight. Bidding ends Sept. 10.
Economy tickets for the trip began at $3.80, with one person paying $7,500 for both legs. Business class tickets started at $38, with one selling for $8,300 for a one-way ride.
