Forum faithful: A special request

Snap, crackle and pop today, Forum friends. To use one of my very own, remembered and treasured Seattle taxicab drivers’ sayback, we need to be “ready to roll” on this one.

Unlike other requests we have had over the years – for a certain recipe, type of recipe, or a solution to a makes-us-crazy household cleaning problem – this one is for a special contributor’s recipes. …

Annette van Belle of Everett writes, “I would like to make a request for any or all of the recipes my mother Eileen Placheki of Lake Stevens, had printed in your Forum column. Unfortunately, I’m not sure of the dates they were published.

“My mother passed away almost two years ago, and having a copy of the Forum columns in which her recipes appeared would mean a lot to me. Thank you so much.”

Although we make every attempt here at The Herald to correctly file recipes we print, they are all filed by category, not by contributor name. Regrettably, then, this means we here at the Forum cannot possibly/are unable to come up with these special recipes.

If you can, though, please write to Judyrae Kruse at the Forum, c/o The Herald, P.O. Box 930, Everett, WA 98206.

As you know, we are always happy to receive your contributions and requests. But, please remember that all letters and all e-mail must include a name, complete address with ZIP code and telephone number with area code. No exceptions – and sorry, but no response to e-mail by return e-mail – send to kruse@heraldnet.com.

Got that? Good, now get this:

RSVP: If you fired off a request for a recipe via e-mail and you are still waiting … that’s because we have no mailing address. Please send the Forum your name, complete address with ZIP code and the recipe you are hoping for.

If it’s on file, the recipe will then be tracked down, copied and sent to you by snail mail.

Note: Thanks for your thanks, Anita Esser of Sultan – the response to your April 24 question, according to JS is, “Heh-heh!”

The next Forum will appear in Monday’s Time Out page.
