Adam Levine, Ellen DeGeneres make music in housing market

By Neal J. Leitereg and Jack Flemming / Los Angeles Times

LOS ANGELES — No two celebrities have been as prolific in the real estate market in recent years as Adam Levine and Ellen DeGeneres. So, it’s fitting that the two have come together on a deal of their own.

Levine and wife Behati Prinsloo have sold their estate in Beverly Hills to DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, for $42.5 million.

Built in 1933 and recently renovated, the stately two-story has more than 10,000 square feet of living space, custom steel-framed windows and two kitchens. Other features include multiple wet bars, a screening room and a gym. A total of five bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, which includes a guesthouse, rounds out the living space.

Levine, 40, recently announced that he would not return as a coach on the singing competition series “The Voice,” on which he had appeared since 2010. He has won three Grammys as the lead vocalist for the pop-rock group Maroon 5.

DeGeneres, 61, has won multiple Emmys for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which premiered in 2003. Last year she co-created and produced the show “Little Big Shots” with Steve Harvey.

De Rossi, 46, has television credits that include the legal drama “Ally McBeal” and the sitcom “Arrested Development.”

Former actress Priscilla Presley has made quick work of selling a family home in Brentwood.

The 1949-built residence hit the market in early May for $3.65 million and had an offer in hand after 10 days. It sold for $3.8 million, or $150,000 more than the asking price.

Owned by Presley since 1976, three years after she divorced rock ‘n’ roll king Elvis Presley, the single-story house had been used for decades by her mother, Ann Lillian Wagner-Beaulieu.

The corner-lot property has about 2,500 square feet of living space, four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Beamed ceilings top the living room, which has a fireplace. The kitchen opens to a covered dining patio.

Presley, 74, was married to Elvis from 1967 to 1973 and previously served as the chairwoman of Elvis Presley Enterprises. As an actress, she appeared in the “Naked Gun” films and on the prime-time television soap opera “Dallas.”

Actress-singer Haylie Duff has put the finishing touches on a home sale in L.A.’s Studio City neighborhood, selling her glammed-out two-story of three years for a little over $3.2 million.

The gated traditional-style home, built in 2016 and extensively updated during Duff’s ownership, features five bedrooms, six bathrooms and about 5,000 square feet of stylized living space.

The property came up for sale in March with an asking price of $3.2 million. Duff paid $2.7 million for the house in 2016.

The 34-year-old is known for her television roles on “Lizzie McGuire” and “7th Heaven” as well as in the films “Napoleon Dynamite” and “Material Girls.” In addition to her TV work, Duff has also hosted numerous cooking and cooking competition shows including “The Real Girl’s Kitchen.”

She is the older sister of actress-singer Hilary Duff.
