Presentation to shed light on importance of dark night skies
The ecological consequences of artificial light at night will be discussed at the next presentation, held via Zoom, by the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project.
Jay Adams, Whidbey Camano Land Trust president, also discuss what all of us can do to help keep it dark, for all creatures — including humans. As a stargazer, Adams was attracted to the subject when the Dark Skies movement first took hold.

Climate crisis’ effect on Mississippi headwaters to be discussed
Adventurer and author Dave Ellingson will screen his new film, “Headwaters: Paddling Through Climate Change,” which chronicles his several-week paddle journey on the headwaters of the Mississippi River during record hot weather, as part of the Marysville Opera House’s outdoor adventure speaker series.
The presentation is set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Opera House, 1225 Third St., Marysville.Refreshments will be available by $5 donation at the door.
