The artists of Skagit Artists Together are opening their studios this weekend for their fifth annual juried art show and tour.
The tour is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Studio tour brochures and maps will be available at selected Skagit County businesses as well as on the group’s Web site, www.skagitartists-together.com.
The show features 25 selected artists from Sedro-Woolley, Conway, La Conner, Anacortes and Edison, who are opening their studios and displaying their art to their Northwest neighbors.
Among the many media on the tour, the painters are expected to provide variety while bringing their vision to life through rich compositions in watercolor, oil, pastel, Sumi ink and acrylic media.
Skagit Artists Together also includes plenty of Skagit’s glass and metal artists. In addition, visitors can view stunning images created by fine art photographers, browse through the printmaking process, witness ceramics being made and see unusual puzzle art being created.
This year, Skagit Artists Together is collaborating with Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland to host a gallery show and benefit at Seaside Gallery in La Conner that will feature additional work by studio tour artists.
That show will open at 4 p.m. Saturday and run through July 27 at Seaside Gallery, 112 Morris St., La Conner. Proceeds from gallery sales will support the preservation of Skagit County farmland. For more about this event, go to the Web site at www.skagitonians.org/upcoming-events.cfm.
