‘It just makes her smile’: Give the gift of a simply spectacular renovation

Can you give the gift of a beautiful space? You can when you work with the right local team – just ask two homeowners who planned spectacular surprises for someone special!

While Sine White’s mother, Muriel, lives just two houses away, as she’s in her mid-90s, it was important for her to be able to live safely in her home.

Having previously worked with Everett’s Granite Transformations to renovate her son’s bathroom, there was no question who she’d approach for a special surprise for her mom – a renovation that would let her navigate her bathroom more safely and easily.

Sine took her mom to choose the surface for her walk-in shower and double vanity, and work with the team to design the space. “The Granite Transformations team is great to work with – the service is excellent and they’re very responsive,” Sine says.

Beyond the safety improvements, the renovation looks fantastic.

“It just makes her smile,” Sine says of her mother’s response. “And when you can make a 93-year-old smile, it just makes you feel good.”

The gift of a beautiful space was also the highlight of another surprise renovation.

After nearly 20 years in their house, Alvin and Joanne were ready to freshen up their space. A former interior designer, Joanne got to work on the plans for the kitchen, with the help of Granite Transformations, whose work had been highly recommended by a friend.

As the two were also marking their 30th anniversary, Alvin had a plan: After convincing Joanne to postpone the accompanying fireplace and bathroom renovations, he instead engaged the Granite Transformations team to make it all happen as a surprise while Joanne was out of town for a few days!

“The crew were great about working on the surprise,” Alvin says.

Joanne, of course, loved it, and visitors are always stunned by the transformation. The whole space looks totally updated.

“The countertops are great! I don’t have to worry about hot pans or water damage – nothing scratches, nothing burns,” Alvin says. “And the crew that did the installation was excellent.”
