Quail Park of Lynnwood hosts community blood drive

Philanthropy doesn’t have to retire when you do.

After all, we’re at our best when we’re part of a community – it’s what keeps us inspired and connected, and what helps give value to our lives. Giving back is a significant part of that.

At Quail Park of Lynnwood, community is key, whether it’s the garden club maintaining the beautiful gardens for all to enjoy or efforts to support those in need within the greater Lynwood community.

This month, the Quail Park community is hosting a blood drive in partnership with Bloodworks Northwest, making it easy for residents to help address this urgent need.

In fact, every two seconds in the United States, someone needs blood; here in western Washington, it takes 800 donors a day to sustain a blood supply for local patients in more than 90 area hospitals, Bloodworks Northwest notes.

And donations like this are so much more than the sum of their parts.

After comprehensive testing, donated whole blood is processed and separated into component parts – red blood cells and plasma – and within 24 hours, your blood is typically available in local hospitals, where it could be used in trauma care, surgeries and organ transplants. It could help people receiving treatment for cancer, bleeding disorders, blood diseases or immune system condition.

In short, this one donation brings myriad benefits that can save lives, supporting the community in so many ways!

“Whether it’s supporting those right here in Quail Park, or contributing to the needs of the greater community, our residents and team are so generous,” says Denis Bryant, president and CEO of Living Care Lifestyles’ recently expanded Quail Park of Lynnwood. “Seeing so many of our friends and neighbors roll up their sleeves to help is a big part of why this is such an enjoyable place to live and work!”
